Dances, takes selfies and delays flight in the USA: Meet Bebop, the robot that travels

UA flight departed late from Oakland, California, because of an unusual passenger: Bebop, a robot who, like the other occupants of the aircraft, wanted to get to San Diego, in the same state in the United States.

According to North American media outlets, the case happened last week, on April 30, when Bebop, a robot from the company Elite Event Robotics, faced several difficulties boarding a Southwest Airlines plane.

The machine, which measures about 4 feet tall and weighs approximately 70 pounds, was too large to be transported as carry-on luggage. Therefore, Eily Ben-Abraham, responsible for taking her, bought an exclusive ticket for the robot.

Initially, Bebop’s seat was in the aisle, but the airline eventually moved him to a window seat. Then another problem arose: the robot’s battery, due to the high amount of lithium, could pose a risk. The batteries ended up being confiscated.

“Nowadays, we need to be prepared for any adventure when we travel,” he said.
