NVIDIA introduces DLSS 4.5 with improved Ray Reconstruction, but DLSS 5 does not appear on Computex

The moment awaited by enthusiastic gamers is finally arriving, and the scheduled date is August! THE NVIDIA revealed in Computex 2026 the DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstructionone transformer model of second generation which enhances image quality with ray tracing and path tracing in compatible PC games.

The resource will replace denoisers manually adjusted by a neural rendering model which infers the appearance of pixels in noisy areas where light rays have not been cast and upscales the resulting image to higher resolutions.

In all, 27 titles will receive native support via NVIDIA Appincluding Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2 and Hogwarts Legacy.

Four improvements delivered by DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction

The new model delivers improvements in four main aspectsas detailed in the table below:

4 Finer Control for Developers NVIDIA gives developers finer-grained control over temporal accumulation, allowing adjustments to model response to further elevate visual quality.

Hands-on demos: Indiana Jones, Pragmata and Alan Wake 2

THE NVIDIA displayed specific cases of benefited games. In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (MachineGames), snow is resolved with much better quality.

In Pragmata (CAPCOM), there are fewer residual artifacts and the lighting responds more quickly.

Already in Alan Wake 2the famous tube television scene with static now correctly displays the individual lines of noise.

Other titles demonstrated include Death Relives, Directive 8020, DOOM: The Dark Ages, F1 25 and Star Wars Outlaws.

You didn’t get it wrong: NVIDIA reported that the new Ray Reconstrucion will be better and will have a performance cost similar to the first generation model (that is, it will not be heavier, as DLSS 4.5 is, when compared with DLSS 4).

The company also highlighted that the DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction continue 100% compatible with all GeForce RTX GPUs, including RTX 20 and RTX 30 series products, unlike DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, which imposes substantial performance losses on older hardware.

27 games will receive the feature in August via NVIDIA App

Furthermore, the NVIDIA announced that the Ray Reconstruction will come to the software Blender, replacing denoisers slow which cause long waiting periods for the viewport to re-stabilize with each camera movement.

In conjunction with the NVIDIA Optixthe technology promises a viewport experience more interactive and image quality close to the final result.

And, for those on the outside, the viewport is the work screen on which you create and move your 3D objects in real time, functioning like the backstage of a movie set or the screen of a moving video game.

I.e: have a good “viewport experience” It means that this window responds to your commands quickly and without hiccups, showing colors, lights and shadows with such fidelity that you can see an almost perfect preview of the final result as you work.

DLSS 4.5 expands to more games in June with Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation

THE NVIDIA also released additional updates for the month of June:

  • Backrooms: Escape Together (early access), cooperative horror game, has already been updated to support DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation;
  • Duet Night Abyss adds native support for both technologies starting June 2;
  • NARAKA: BLADEPOINT receives upgrade to native DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution on June 5;
  • Gothic remake launches June 5th with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation;
  • Marvel Rivals will be updated to native DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation on June 12;
  • Squadthe tactical FPS, receives the same update on June 15;
  • Hell Let Loose: Vietnam debuts on June 15th with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution;
  • Where Winds Meet will receive native support for technologies “soon”;
  • Honeycomb: The World Beyonda survival sandbox scheduled for release in 2026, will include DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Ray Reconstruction and RTXDI (RTX Direct Illumination);
  • Cinder Citya shooter MMO, will debut with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and improved ray tracing.

Absence of DLSS 5 generates mixed reactions among gamers and developers

Finally, we emphasize that the big elephant in the room among all the Computex 2026 announcements was absence of controversial DLSS 5. Since the NVIDIA announced the technology in GTC 2026the Public reaction has been very divided.

Many players and developers have expressed strong skepticism and deception in relation to driven visual changes put intelligence artificialwhile others adopted the new technology enthusiastically.

Last but not least, we reaffirm that the NVIDIA did not provide additional details about when DLSS 5 may appear in games or whether the technology will undergo revisions before commercial launch.
