The prices for “Grand Theft Auto VI” (better known as “GTA VI”) have finally been announced, as well as some changes in the way the game will be sold.

The announcement was made this Wednesday by Rockstar Games, the game’s developer, which reported that the standard version of “GTA VI” will cost US$79.99 in the United States — US$10 more than the price of the previous title in the franchise and also above the value of other releases highly anticipated by players, such as “Ghost of Yōtei” and “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”.

For those who opt for the premium edition, the price increases to US$99.99. The published values are valid only for the United States. So far, prices for the Brazilian market have not yet been revealed.

Another new feature in the launch of “GTA VI” concerns physical media. Those who purchase the boxed version will not receive a disc. Instead, Rockstar Games will include a code inside the packaging for the game to be downloaded digitally.

The game goes on pre-sale starting this Thursday, June 25th, but will only be officially released on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is worth remembering that the launch was initially scheduled for 2025, but ended up being postponed.

The enormous expectation surrounding “GTA VI” is also explained by the fact that “GTA V” was released in September 2013.

With more than 13 years of difference between the two games — largely due to the enormous success of “GTA V”‘s online mode — the enthusiasm of players and the expectations of industry analysts make “GTA VI” one of the most anticipated games of all time.
