The founder of Nubank, David Vélez, was appointed as a member of the boards of directors of the OpenAI Foundation and the OpenAI Group PBC, according to a statement published this Tuesday (21) by the owner of ChatGPT. In addition to him, the president and CEO of BNY, Robin Vince, was also appointed.
Vélez founded Nubank in 2013 and is also president and CEO of the institution. OpenIA highlights that the bank has become “one of the largest digital financial services platforms in the world, with more than 135 million customers”. With the appointment, he will help define the direction of the artificial intelligence company.
Vince leads BNY, a global financial services company. He spent 26 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a partner and member of the Management Committee. “Since assuming the role of CEO in 2022, he has led a broad reformulation of the company, simplifying its operating model, accelerating investments in AI and data and strengthening its culture of innovation and execution”, points out OpenIA about the governance led by the new board member.
