Apple releases iOS 26.5 with new features and more than 50 bug fixes

The Apple has officially released the final versions of new updates for its devices. These include iOS 26.5 for iPhones, iPadOS 26.5 for iPads, macOS 26.5 for Mac computers, watchOS 26.5 for Apple Watch, tvOS 26.5 for Apple TV and visionOS 26.5 for Vision Pro.

In the case of the iPhone, iOS 26.5 arrives bringing new features and also important security fixes.

Among the new features is the exchange of RCS messages with end-to-end encryption between iPhones and Android cell phones. The update also adds ads on Apple Maps, allows you to connect accessories such as Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard to the iPhone using a USB-C cable and expands data transfer options between iPhone and Android.

According to the website MacRumors, users in Europe also now have more integration between the iPhone and wearable devices from other brands.

With the update, wireless headphones from competing manufacturers can be paired with the iPhone by proximity only. Additionally, smart watches other than Apple Watch can now receive notifications directly from Apple’s cell phone.

Apple also highlighted that iOS 26.5 fixes more than 50 security vulnerabilities identified in the iPhone.

Therefore, even users who are not interested in the new features are advised to install the update to protect the device against failures and possible attacks.

The expectation is that iOS 26.5 will be the last major update before the arrival of iOS 27.

The next version of Apple’s operating system should be officially presented during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), the company’s annual conference that will take place between June 8th and 12th.
