The Google announced this Tuesday (19) the launch of Pics, a new application aimed at editing photos and images with Artificial Intelligence. The tool will be part of Workspace, a platform that brings together company applications such as Docs, Sheets and Slides.
According to The Verge, Google Pics combines the Gemini and Nano Banana 2 AI models, allowing users to create images and make changes through simple text commands, like small notes within a Google Docs document.
The company’s proposal is to make editing more collaborative and intuitive, bringing the experience closer to platforms like Canva. With this, different people will be able to access and contribute simultaneously to modify the same image.
The launch is part of the new generation of Artificial Intelligence resources presented by Google this week, during one of the biggest announcements ever made by the company for its digital ecosystem.
Google reported that Pics has already started to be released to a restricted group of users and that it will be available to AI Ultra plan subscribers during the summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
Even at this early stage, the company stated that the objective is to integrate Pics directly into Workspace to expand access to the new AI editing tool.
