Model should hit the market by the end of the year with chips launched in early 2026 by Apple
The strategy indicates that the company should leave aside the M6 generation for the Pro and Max variants, without delaying the launch schedule of the new 14 and 16 inch models.

Visual changes and new OLED screen
The touch screen feature will not be the only new feature of the device. Sources linked to the project point out that the new MacBook will undergo a visual overhaul in its industrial design and will adopt panels with OLED technology. Furthermore, the company intends to adapt the Dynamic Island interface (the “Dynamic Island”, currently present in iPhones) for the notebook operating system.
Next generation of chips already in testing
Although it debuts with the M5 component, the line of touchscreen notebooks has an update scheduled for the short term. Apple plans to introduce the entry-level M7 processor in early 2027, followed by the M7 Pro and M7 Max versions a few months later. There is also a forecast for the M7 Ultra chip in 2028.
According to the publication, MacBook models equipped with the M7 family are already in an advanced stage of internal testing and could be commercially launched by the end of 2027.
