Anthropic develops artificial intelligence to prevent the spell from turning against the sorcerer (again)

When the topic is artificial intelligenceit is assumed that mistakes will not happen, after all, that is what it was created for. However, the problem is that, for AIs exist, they still depend on humans — and humans are famous for their mistakes.

At the end of March, the Anthropic owner of AI Claude accidentally released an internal file that contained parts of the model’s source code. According to the company technology the error was not related to an attack, but to… human error.

The issue, as ironic as it may seem, is worrying for the company because the great risk of the leak is the intellectual property of its main product.

This is because competitors began to understand how the tool was built and how it works.

But that wasn’t the only novelty that came from the exposed from Anthropic.

An artificial intelligence to protect other AIs

After the news was released, Anthropic confirmed and explained its newest initiative, the Project Glasswing in partnership with companies such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Cisco System.

The idea is to give access to other technology companies to a more advanced artificial intelligence model, which has not yet been officially launched. The difference with the new tool is that it will help prepare against possible cyber attacks.

THE Mythos aims to identify flaws in its products and share the results with other companies in the sector.

For Anthropic, this issue is not an individual problem, but an industry-wide problem. Yet, they argue that it is also something that governments should look at. The company has already contacted authorities in United States but did not reveal which agencies.

And its biggest competitor, OpenAI also identified this growing concern about security in source codes. Therefore, the company Sam Altman developed a pilot program to get its tools “first into the hands of advocates.”

So far, none of the companies intend to release the tools to the general public. Who knows, maybe the spell will turn against the sorcerer — and the rest of the world.
