With 436 hp of combined power and a total range of up to 675 km, the new BYD SHARK marks the Chinese brand’s entry into the pick-up segment, debuting Super Hybrid technology Dual Mode Off-road (DMO), which combines efficiency and off-road capabilities.
BYD has just reinforced its offer with the arrival of SHARK, the brand’s first pick-up and a model that introduces technology Super Hybrid DMO in one of the most demanding segments of the market.
Developed to meet the needs of professional and private customers looking for a vehicle robust, versatile and efficientBYD SHARK combines, in the brand’s words, “high off-road capabilities, reference performance and the possibility of carrying out everyday journeys in exclusively electric mode”.
With double cabin for five occupants and 5.46 meters longthe BYD SHARK combines the functionality of a pick-up with the comfort, technology and build quality characteristic of BYD models.
DMO Super Hybrid Technology: uncompromising performance
According to BYD, its technology Super Hybrid has already won over European customers with the brand’s DM-i models, cars like the SEAL U DM-i, SEAL 6 DM-i Touring, ATTO 2 DM-i and DOLPHIN G DM-i.
Now, the same principles of performance and efficiency are being applied to a vehicle with ability to cross rougher terrainwith Super Hybrid DMO technology.
The new Super Hybrid DMO technology was developed specifically for vehicles intended to face more demanding conditions of use.
The system combines a 1.5 Turbo gasoline engine with two electric motors: one on the front axle with 231 hp and 310 Nm of torqueand another at the rear that produces 204 hp and 304 Nm of torqueproviding a combined power of 436 hp and 650 Nm of torqueallowing accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.
The priority given to electric driving allows travel up to 90 km in 100% electric mode (WLTP), while the combined range reaches 675 km with the battery charged and the fuel tank full.
BYD SHARK is equipped with a 32.2 kWh Blade Batteryintegrated into the vehicle structure through technology Cell-to-Chassis (CTC)which simultaneously reinforces structural rigidity, safety and efficiency.
Intelligent all-wheel drive Automatically adapts power distribution to different road conditionssuch as sand, mud, snow or gravel, ensuring high off-road capabilities, complemented by independent double wishbone suspension, hill descent control and a 2500 kg towing capacity.
Robust design and technological cabin
Inspired by the strength and agility of the shark, BYD SHARK features a striking design language, with a robust posturemuscular lines and a distinct light signature. Inside, comfort and functionality stand out, with heated and ventilated front seats, quality materials and a environment designed for long days of work or leisure.
The technological equipment includes a 10.25 inch digital instrumentsone 15.6-inch rotating touchscreenthe largest in the segment, Head-Up Display50 W wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Dynaudio sound system with 12 speakers and remote control of various functions via the BYD app.

The new BYD SHARK was designed to respond to multiple usage scenarios. THE cargo box offers 1200 liters of capacitywhile the functionality Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)with power up to 6 kWallows you to power power tools, professional equipment or leisure devices directly from the vehicle.
In terms of security, BYD SHARK integrates a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systemsincluding Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, blind spot monitoring, cross traffic alert, lane keeping assistance, 360° vision camera and seven airbags.
