Apple is expected to present the new version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 27, next week, during the WWDC 2026 conference. Before that, however, the company released another update for iOS 26.
The new version, identified as iOS 26.5.1, does not bring new features, but fixes flaws and improves system stability. The main correction involves the iPhone 17 line models and the iPhone Air.
According to Apple, some users reported a problem that prevented cable charging when the device’s battery was practically empty. Although the company claims that the flaw only affected a small number of people, the error was fixed in this update.
“This update fixes an issue that prevented wired charging on iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models when the battery was very low,” Apple said in the official update notes.
According to the website The Verge, the update package occupies around 12.7 GB.
WWDC 2026 will be held between June 8th and 12th, at Apple Park, the company’s headquarters in California. Traditionally, the event is used by Apple to present the next versions of its devices’ operating systems.
In addition to iOS 27, the company is expected to reveal new features for macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS, in addition to presenting new features related to artificial intelligence.
