Drop in sales forces ASUS, MSI and ASRock to liquidate high-end motherboards

It seems that motherboard manufacturers are facing serious difficulties. With the start of Prime Day in the US, some discounts on motherboards are hard to believe. It is worth highlighting that, In Brazil, Prime Day will take place from July 1st to 7th, that is, next week.

Will we have the same discounts? In any case, here are some suggestions for you to keep an eye on.

To give you an idea, the top-of-the-line ASRock Z890 Taichi board, which normally costs US$460 (R$2,387.49), is now priced at US$199 (R$1,032.85), a huge discount of 56%. To give you an idea, the previous lowest price was US$300 (R$1,557.06), which suggests that there is something happening behind the scenes.

This “something” must be the prices of RAM and SSDs. With the prices of these components high, enthusiasts are not building new PCs and, consequently, are not buying motherboards.

As a result, motherboard sales apparently fell by up to 37%and manufacturers are drastically reducing prices to try to boost these numbers.

While the angst over PC component prices is constant right now, it’s good to take advantage of the plight for manufacturers. We still don’t know what it will be like in Brazil, but it is reasonable to estimate that something similar will happen.

For those hoping for a discount to upgrade, At least, it’s good to keep an eye out to see if discounts will come.

The model offers excellent connectivity, with two M.2 slots — one PCIe Gen5 and the other Gen4 — in addition to two SATA connections. There is also a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot that supports PCIe bifurcation via BIOS. There are even internal connectors for USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2, ensuring complete connectivity to the front panel.

The LGA 1700: MSI Z790 Gaming Plus Wi-Fi is at its lowest price ever, and while MSI’s Gaming Plus line doesn’t go overboard with features like the Taichi series, it does offer reliable cards.

However, this is no longer an astronomical discount, but a 27% reduction. This still means that it reached the lowest price, costing US$129 (R$670.21). In Brazil, it comes out R$ 1,387.18 or R$ 2,049.00.
