Released in September 2025, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles was considered by many fans to be a game that Square Enix had considered finished. However, the company surprised everyone by releasing patch 1.5.0 last Tuesday (16), which promises an Enhanced Version of the tactical experience.

Among the new features prepared by the Japanese company is the new New Game+ mode, which will allow you to restart the story with all the levels, items and jobs obtained during a previous game. The title also gained the Zodiac Compatibility system, which reveals elements that worked in a subtle way until then.

It will now indicate which signs Final Fantasy Tactics characters are or are not compatible with. In positive cases, this can yield more damage and healing points, among other advantages. In negative cases, the damage caused decreases, as well as the chances of hitting an opponent or helping a teammate.

Final Fantasy Tactics has received several refinements

Final Fantasy Tactics update 1.5.0 also brought some quality of life improvements to the tactical game. You can now use a single command to remove all unit equipment and follow clearer instructions on the requirements needed to unlock a job.

Square Enix also now shows the status of a unit when the cursor is left over it during moments of battle. Additionally, clashes will now retain the camera angle and zoom level settings that were used by players in previous clashes.

The update added small text adjustments to Final Fantasy Tactics, which received settings that allow automatic dialogue advancement and enchantment effects to be fixed. The developer also promises small bug fixes, music adjustments and the resolution of some specific problems.
