It is worth remembering that Elon Musk left OpenAI in 2018, after his attempt to take over leadership of the company was rejected. The information revealed in court also indicates that, at the end of 2017, Musk showed little confidence that OpenAI would be able to develop the so-called AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), a type of AI capable of surpassing the capabilities of the human brain.
Even after leaving OpenAI, Musk continued to maintain contact within the company through Shivon Zilis — mother of four of his children, member of the OpenAI board between 2020 and 2023, and also an executive at Tesla and Neuralink.
