Galaxy S26 series gets sixth One UI 9 beta release

Samsung entered One UI 9 development with much gusto, but after releasing the stable update alongside the new Galaxy Z8 foldables, the pace of One UI 9 beta releases for its previous flagships has slowed down a bit. After releasing the fifth One UI 9 beta almost two weeks ago, Samsung is now picking things up with the sixth One UI 9 beta release for the Galaxy S26 series.

We’ve received the sixth One UI 9 update on our Galaxy S26 Ultra in the UK. This Android 17-based update comes with firmware version ending in ZZHE, the August 5, 2026 security patch, and is 851MB in size.

The changelog doesn’t mention any major new features, but goes on to target several key bugs:

• Improved display error of Now Brief widget.
• Improved display error of Home screen.
• Improved issue where display error occurs for camera widget in specific paths.
• Improved issue where images are saved differently at specific focal lengths when shooting with Expert RAW 24MP.

This update is currently live in South Korea, India, the UK, Poland, and Germany, with the notable exception of the US. We expect users in the US who have signed up for the beta program to receive this update very soon as well. We’ll keep you updated if we find any new features or bigger changes in this update.

It has been months since One UI 9 entered testing for the Galaxy S26 series. It has also been several weeks since the Galaxy Z8 foldables were released with One UI 9 stable, allowing them plenty of exclusivity with the new update. Given that the beta is in a good state of polish, Samsung should consider rolling out the stable release to the Galaxy S26 series as well, allowing more of its users to enjoy Android 17.
