Samsung is expected to expand the options in its line of premium smartwatches with the launch of the new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. According to information released by the GalaxyClub website, the model could hit the market in more than one version, offering alternatives for different user profiles.
According to the publication, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 should be sold in a version with Bluetooth connection and in another equipped with LTE connectivity. In some markets, the watch is also expected to support 4G mobile networks, allowing users to make calls, send messages and use applications without relying on a smartphone nearby.
If the information is confirmed, it will be the first time that Samsung will make a Bluetooth-only variant available for the Galaxy Watch Ultra line. Until now, this strategy was only adopted in traditional models from the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Classic families.
The possibility of launching a version without a mobile connection could also help the South Korean manufacturer to reduce the device’s entry price, at a time when the costs of electronic components continue to put pressure on the technology market.
In addition to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Samsung is also preparing the arrival of the new generation of its conventional smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 9 line.
The expectation is that the new watches will be officially presented later this year. Rumors indicate that the announcement could happen as early as July, during one of the company’s global events aimed at launching new products.
Although Samsung has not yet confirmed the specifications of the devices, the tendency is for the models to bring performance improvements, battery life and new features aimed at monitoring health and physical activities.
