Goal backtracks on plan to track employees after backlash

It was weeks of strong resistance of employees. According to the document, signed by Stephane Kasrielvice president of the Superintelligence Labs unit, responsible for building AI models, new measures will allow employees pause data collection for up to 30 minutes at a time and ask exceptions to the program.

Kasriel also said that the team responsible for the software introduced “various optimizations” to reduce the impact on battery of computers and data traffic, after complaints that the system consumed so much internet that it increased data usage at home.

“While we remain confident in the privacy protections we put in place at launch, which have gone through multiple layers of risk review, we have heard your concerns about personal data on work devices, battery life, and the desire to have more control over when capture happens,” he said in the memo.

Zuckerberg also said, in the audio, that “none of the data is being used to, like, look at what people are doing, or surveillanceor performance tracking, or anything like that. It’s purely, like, we’re using this to feed a really large amount of content into the AI ​​model so that it can learn how smart people use computers to do tasks.
