Google Photos gains AI that puts together looks with the user’s clothes

Business Emphasis

Google has started releasing a new tool for Google Photos that promises to make choosing clothes easier with the help of artificial intelligence. Named Wardrobe, the function had been announced in April and is now beginning to reach eligible users.

The feature uses AI to analyze the items of clothing and accessories that appear in photos stored in the user’s library. Based on these images, the tool suggests combinations and allows you to create looks virtually, without the need to physically try on the clothes.

To work correctly, Wardrobe needs to identify the user in the photos and recognize the clothing items present in the images. This means that only clothes that are already registered in the gallery can be used in combination suggestions.

In practice, if a certain piece has not been photographed or is not visible in images stored in Google Photos, it will not be included in the tool’s recommendations.

Initially, the new feature will only be available to users of the Google Photos application on the Android system. Additionally, access will be restricted to subscribers of Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra plans in the United States, Brazil and India.

The expectation is that the functionality will be expanded to more countries in the future and will also reach Apple devices, including the iPhone and iPad.

With the launch of Wardrobe, Google expands the presence of artificial intelligence in its services and bets on increasingly personalized features for users’ daily lives.

After announcements of new artificial intelligence functions at Google, DuckDuckGo recorded an increase in downloads in the US and once again attracted users concerned about privacy and control over the use of AI in searches.
