The executive responsible for Instagram, Adam Mosseri, published a video on the social network in which he states that the company is working on new ways to allow users to personalize the experience with the platform’s algorithm.
In the publication, Mosseri showed a new way to access the menu that allows you to adjust the algorithm. By swiping down on Instagram’s homepage, users will be able to see which topics the algorithm is focusing on most. From there, you can remove topics or add new interests, simply describing what you want to see more often.
Complaints about digital services triple. Target represents more than 50%
The number of complaints related to digital services tripled to 98 in the first quarter, compared to the same period in 2025. The owner of Instagram and Facebook accounted for half of the total complaints received by Anacom.
“We’re working to make Your Algorithm more present and useful across Instagram. I wanted to share some ideas we’re exploring. Some are being tested now, others will arrive soon, some won’t work,” said the head of Instagram.
“Over time, we want your algorithm to be something you can talk to, rather than something that just happens to you,” he added.
In the video shared by Mosseri, the algorithm’s new personalization area appears to work similarly to a conversational artificial intelligence assistant such as Gemini or Claude, as it would be able to add themes and subjects based on interactions with the user.
It is important to highlight that, as this is an Instagram test, only some users of the social network will have access to the new feature at this time. As the test progresses, the company should release the feature to more and more people.
