Mangmi published an image this weekend showing its next portable devices for emulation, in the new Air Y series. The rendering reveals two devices of slightly different sizes, in two color variants, but unfortunately the company did not disclose details of their specifications.
The image allows us to speculate that Mangmi intends to launch a more affordable and a more advanced version of the Air Y, which will also impact the size of its screen. What we can’t know at the moment is whether color options will be restricted to each specification variant.
Another curious thing about the announcement is that the black Air Y only comes with one analog joystick, the one on the left, while the larger version comes with two. This raises speculation that Mangmi is targeting emulation of simpler games that barely allowed camera control on the cheapest device, perhaps as far back as the PS1 generation.
The most advanced portable, in turn, would perhaps reach the PS2. Since this is the best-selling video game in history, many emulation laptops target this generation of games, but at this point we are just speculating. The only information that accompanies the image is that they will use Qualcomm processors.
Mangmi will offer more information about Air Y in July
While it didn’t offer specifications alongside its reveal image for the Air Y series of wearable devices, Mangmi is expected to offer more details in the coming weeks. The website staff RetroDodo contacted the company and received a response that the technical details and price of the laptops will be published by the end of July.

Not only that, the website also adds that pre-sales for the Air Y can start on the 30th of this month, so by then we should have all the details released. That is if there is no change in plans in the next few days.
The Mangmi Air Y arrives with a Game Boy-style design, which is increasingly common in notebooks in the segment. The price will really be an important characteristic for us to see the competitiveness of these devices.
