Meta has quietly launched a new application aimed at creating games and interactive experiences through artificial intelligence (AI). Called Pocketthe software allows users to generate small applications and games using text commands (prompts) sent to the AI.
The application is the result of the acquisition, carried out by Meta earlier this year, of the team responsible for the AI-based gaming platform Gizmo. In the official description, Pocket presents itself as “a creative platform for creating and sharing gizmos”, the name given to interactive experiences developed by users.
In addition to the creation tools, the application offers a continuously scrolling feed, in which you can explore and test the “gizmos” produced by other people.
According to screenshots available on Google Play, Pocket has several similarities with the original Gizmo application, which continues to be listed in app stores.
Like Pocket, Gizmo allows users to use text prompts to create small interactive experiences with the help of AI and also has a feed aimed at discovering content produced by the community.
The launch of Pocket was initially identified by Alessandro Paluzzi, an engineer specializing in reverse engineering and known for discovering new applications and features in advance. This Thursday morning (2), he published a screenshot of the application’s page on the Play Store on X.
According to data from application intelligence company Appfigures, however, Pocket was made available for the first time on June 29, 2026, both on the App Store and on Google Play. As it is a recent launch, the company reported that it is still unable to determine whether the application has already registered downloads.
Meta has not yet commented on the application.
Strategy expands Meta’s commitment to AI tools
- Pocket represents another step for Meta in the strategy of popularizing AI-based creation tools;
- The company had already launched features for generating images through the Meta AI application and creating videos using the Vibes application;
- In addition, it incorporated AI functionalities into its social media platforms and the Edits video editing application, aimed at content creators;
- As Meta has not yet officially announced the arrival of Pocket, the expectation is that the application will remain in an initial experimental phase.
According to Appfigures, Gizmo, the platform that gave rise to Pocket, accumulated 635 thousand installations throughout its existence, considering the versions for iOS and Google Play. The company also reported that the application recorded a positive sentiment index of 98% among its users.
