The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has gone through a lot since its first announcement in 2021. However, it seems that now the game’s development is progressing properly and we may have a proper reveal in 2026, according to information from a channel known for correct leaks about the franchise.
A new video from the channel 100% Star Wars points out that Saber Interactive restarted all development of Star Wars: KOTOR Remake, after taking the game from the Aspyr Media studio. But apparently now things would be at a great pace.
“Game development has not only accelerated, but has been going extremely well over the last 3 years since Saber started from scratch,” declares the insider in his video.
“They have hired some extremely advanced talent in the industry, and Saber is a very unified front in relation to the development of this game with resources and talent being pulled from across the company”, adds 100% Star Wars.
Despite good news, remake of Star Wars: KOTOR may still be postponed
Even with all the optimism, the 100% Star Wars channel still does not guarantee dates for the game. According to the insider, the reveal of the game could end up moving to next year if the producer wants to take advantage of the Star Wars Celebration period, which runs from April 1st to April 4th in 2027.
Meanwhile, the launch scheduled for 2028 may also be postponed, due to the “current situation” in the games industry.
