Meta AI will be used for more than chatting on WhatsApp

PIt appears that Meta wants to make its artificial intelligence assistant — Meta AI — even more useful for WhatsApp users. According to information, the company is working on a new feature that will allow you to send files, such as photos and documents, directly to the tool.

According to the website WABetaInfo, Meta is developing a feature that will allow WhatsApp users to send files directly to Meta AI. From there, it will be possible to ask questions about the content of the images sent or about information present in PDF documents. It will also be possible to share files received in conversations within the application itself.

The feature was identified in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and is now available to some users participating in the platform’s tests.

“Sharing a document with Meta AI makes it easier to access accurate and relevant information,” states WABetaInfo. “Instead of copying and pasting text or manually describing content, users can simply upload the file directly. This allows artificial intelligence to analyze the document with more context and provide more specific answers. If there is a problem or question in the document, Meta AI can help step by step with a solution.”

The site also highlights that the new feature makes the experience more natural and aligned with the way users already exchange files in individual or group conversations. Previously, many people needed to take screenshots or send images to get similar responses from the AI. By sending documents directly, interaction tends to be faster and more accurate.

It is not yet clear when WhatsApp will release the feature to all users. However, when this happens, the expectation is that it will also reach Android devices.
