Battlefield 6 will bring back naval battles and ranked mode in 2026

Although it only recently released Season 2 of Battlefield 6, Electronic Arts promises several new features for the game and the REDSEC mode in 2026. At the company’s invitation, Adrenaline participated in a presentation in which she shared some of the news that is being prepared for the shootr.

Among the plans for the coming months is the return of naval combat, which will feature a dynamic wave system that will have great importance in the battles of Season 4. In addition, the game will also receive an updated version of the Railway to Golmud map, which was a huge success among Battlefield 4 fans.

The first new features arrive at Battlefield 6 and REDSEC in May, during Season 3. In addition to bringing renewed versions of classic maps, it will also be responsible for add solo mode to Battle Royale and inaugurate the ranked gaming experience.

The main news about Battlefield 6 and REDSEC for 2026

Season 3 – May 2026

  • Railway to Golmud – the biggest map in the game so far will be almost four times larger than Marag Valley and will feature combat that takes place after the events of the main campaign;
  • Cairo Bazaar – Update of the Grand Bazaar map, from the third game in the series. It has a more compact size and prioritizes direct combat;
  • Solo mode for Battle Royale and the beginning of the ranked match system, which will be expanded to traditional multiplayer;
  • New weapons and modes.

Season 4 – July 2026

  • It will mark the return of naval combat to Battlefield 6 and REDSEC;
  • This will happen on the Tsuru Reef map, which will be even bigger than Golmud and promises a dynamic wave system;
  • They can be used to deflect enemy projectiles or hide vessels while players plan invasions;
  • Season 4 will also mark the arrival of Spectator Mode for matches;
  • Wake Island will also return, complete with large aircraft carriers and dynamic elements;
  • The new maps will begin testing soon at Battlefield Labs;
  • The Season will also bring new weapons and additional game modes.

Several improvements are coming to games

During the event, Electronic Arts also confirmed some of the quality of life improvements it has been working on. In the coming months, it will respond to community requests and bring a search system for dedicated servers, as well as options to create personalized lobbies.

Battlefield 6 will also gain a scoreboard system to follow the debut of its ranked mode, and a spectator mode so that it is possible to follow matches in progress. The developer also promises the return of the Platoons system and proximity chat features.

Still in 2026, the New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields maps will return to the Labs to be reworked and improved with the help of the community. To top it off, the company promises that, after the REDSEC ranked mode is well established, it will deliver the Elite and Open Series competitive series that it has been promising for some time.

Electronic Arts also shared the first glimpses of what awaits audiences in Season 5, which arrives in Battlefield 6 at the end of the year. Without going into too much detail, she revealed that the update will be bigger than normal and should bring three new maps to the experience.
