CrowdStrike believes that concerns about cyber threats driven by artificial intelligence (AI) should become an increasingly important factor for the company’s business in the coming quarters. The assessment was made by CEO George Kurtz during an interview with the program “Mad Money” from CNBC, on Thursday, when commenting on the market’s reaction to the company’s most recent financial results.
According to Kurtz, investors who expected an immediate impact from concerns surrounding Anthropic’s Mythos on first-quarter numbers were looking at a very short period of time. The executive highlighted that Mythos gained prominence in mid-April, while CrowdStrike’s fiscal quarter ended at the end of that same month.
CEO says effects take time to appear
According to Kurtz, CrowdStrike’s business model helps explain why eventual changes in demand don’t instantly appear in the financial results.
“We are selling corporate software, not necessarily sending boxes,” said the executive. According to him, the adoption of these solutions by customers takes time to be reflected in the company’s numbers.
On Wednesday, CrowdStrike reported results above market expectations and also raised its guidance for the full fiscal year. Still, the company’s shares fell 4% after questions from investors about the lack of a more significant and immediate impact from the increase in security concerns related to AI.
Annual projection was expanded
For Kurtz, the most relevant indicator is precisely the company’s updated perspectives. CrowdStrike has increased by more than US$50 million your net annual recurring revenue forecast for the full year.
The executive stated that the revision of the projection reflects the company’s confidence in the growth of customer demand. According to him, the company sees concrete opportunities ahead and identifies a growing market interest in its solutions.

Kurtz also stated that the demand for security for artificial intelligence of CrowdStrike is accelerating. According to him, companies want to expand the use of technology safely in their operations.

CrowdStrike was at the center of global cyber blackout
CrowdStrike gained worldwide attention in July 2024 after a defect in a Falcon Sensor driver update. The flaw hit Windows systems around the world, causing crashes and the display of the so-called “Blue Screen of Death” on millions of computers.
The incident caused disruption in several countries, with delays and cancellations of thousands of flights, in addition to impacts on banking services, communication systems and emergency services. In Brazil, users also reported instability in financial institutions.
The fault was corrected a few hours later, but the effects of the blackout continued to be felt for several days. Since then, CrowdStrike has remained under market attention while expanding its operations in different areas of cybersecurity.
