An unexpected turn toward innovation

Careers don’t always follow a straight line — and that’s often where the most exciting stories begin.

Anne Duarte’s journey is a powerful example of how listening to an inner curiosity, even years later, can open new doors and redefine a professional path.

Driving global impact

Today, Anne works as a Focal Point Engineer on the A/B Testing team for Dell.com’s global website. Based in Brazil, she collaborates daily with teams across India, the United States, the United Kingdom and Slovakia. In her role, she ensures that experiments are implemented according to both business and technical requirements, proactively identifies potential experience issues and maintains close alignment with developers, quality assurance, analysts and optimization managers.

In addition, she serves as Project Manager and Designer for an internal team application called Dynamite, where she contributes to process optimization and overall team efficiency.

A passion that was always there

Although Anne’s professional journey began in Human Resources, her connection to technology started much earlier. As a child, she was naturally drawn to it — watching technicians fix her computer, installing games and exploring digital tools.

She built a strong career in HR, where she enjoyed daily challenges and supporting people. However, during the pandemic, she took time to reflect and revisited a long-standing interest in technology. This moment led her to pursue a career transition within Dell, combining her HR experience with her passion for tech.

A new world of possibilities

Stepping into engineering opened up an entirely new world for Anne. From creating features to redesigning user experiences across Dell.com, she now plays a direct role in improving how users interact with digital platforms.

Her background as a Payroll HR Partner provided valuable insight into how technology supports complex processes and compliance requirements. Today, she leverages that experience to not only understand challenges but also build meaningful solutions.

Turning ideas into reality

One of the most rewarding aspects of Anne’s role is seeing her ideas come to life. Through her work in A/B testing, she has contributed to several experiences that are now live on Dell.com, helping validate and deliver the best possible user experience.

Additionally, she played a key role as Project Manager and Designer in launching a new version of the Dynamite tool. The project aligned with Dell Design System (DDS) guidelines and introduced significant functional improvements. For Anne, who has always been passionate about design, creating prototypes and seeing them implemented was both an exciting and fulfilling experience.

More than a Career Change

Anne’s journey is more than a transition between roles — it’s a story of growth, curiosity, and persistence. It highlights how revisiting a long-postponed dream can lead to meaningful impact and inspire others to explore new possibilities within their own careers.
