Hyte is a company well known for its aquarium-style cases, working with a wide variety of options and often creating themed editions for games. This time, the company bet on the entry-level segment with the new Y50, the most affordable case the brand has ever launched.
The Y50 maintains the look that established Hyte – with tempered glass panels not only on the side and front, but also a third diagonal between them. Not only that, but the case comes with RGB fans too, with a 360mm set on the side and another 120mm exhaust fan on the back.
Obviously, the main draw for the Hyte Y50 is the price, having been announced by $99. The value is just over R$500 at the current dollar exchange rate, which certainly cannot be called “cheap”. However, it is still a case made of steel with tempered glass, with a design normally reserved for more expensive models.
Interested parties will also have many color options to choose from. In addition to the classic black or white, the Y50 comes in purple or pink and a black and red variant.
What fits in the Hyte Y50?
Obviously, aesthetics are not all that matters in a cabinet. The Hyte Y50 supports almost every type of domestic motherboard, leaving out only mini-ITX models. Not only that, it is compatible with hidden connector models from ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI.

In terms of space, the new case supports sources up to 250mm and the CPU cooler can reach up to 160mm in height. The company does not provide an exact measurement for the supported GPUs, but says it has space for “full size” models, which should guarantee up to just under 400mm.
In terms of drives, the case holds a total of six 2.5” and two 3.5” bays. Finally, all fan spaces also contain radiators for AIO coolers, which includes the slot on the back.
