Even without plans to launch an exclusive app for AirPods, Apple is preparing changes to make it easier to manage wireless headphones on the iPhone.
According to journalist Mark Gurman, from Bloomberg, the company is expected to introduce a new control panel for AirPods in iOS 27, the next major update to the iPhones’ operating system.
Apple’s proposal is to bring together the main settings of the headphones in a single place, avoiding fragmented access to functions, as is currently the case. The new feature would also allow users to adjust AirPods features even when they are not connected to the device.
With the change, it will be possible to more easily access tools such as head movement recognition, adaptive audio, noise cancellation and other advanced headphone controls.
The news comes amid increasing rumors about a new generation of AirPods. According to speculation, Apple would be developing models equipped with infrared cameras, capable of capturing information about the environment around the user.
Rumors indicate that the new AirPods could be announced by the end of this year, although Apple has not yet officially confirmed plans for the next launches.
