DConfidential documents and images of the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple’s next high-end model, were released on the dark web. The device should be officially presented by the company in September.
According to Reuters, the leak originated from a cyber attack against Tata Electronics, Apple’s Indian supplier. The company was targeted by hackers last week.
Criminals would have stolen more than 200,000 files, equivalent to 630 GB of data. Among the material obtained is information about production processes used by Apple and data related to the company’s other suppliers.
The leak also includes supposed specifications of the A20 Pro processor, which may indicate part of the evolution expected for the new cell phone compared to the previous generation.
The case could affect the relationship between Apple and Tata Electronics, which is currently one of the company’s main partners in India.
According to the website The Next Web, Apple is investigating the situation and working together with the Indian supplier to develop long-term protection measures, with the aim of preventing further incidents of this type.
