During Computex 2026, MSI introduced the MPG 271KRAW18, a 27-inch 5K Mini LED gaming monitor with a glossy finish and dual-mode operation. According to the company, This is the world’s first bright 5K Mini LED dual-mode gaming monitor.
It supports 5120×2880 resolution at 180Hz and can also switch to 2560×1440 at 330Hz, which MSI calls 2K mode. This gives the panel a higher refresh rate option without having to use another monitor.
The MPG 271KRAW18 appears to be an upgraded version of the previously introduced MPG 271KRAW16. And MSI has increased the native 5K refresh rate from 165Hz to 180Hz. This is a small gain, but it signals the company’s effort to improve the hardware.
The launch is scheduled for 2027, but no price prediction was presented.

The monitor uses a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel with a resolution of 5120×2880 and a pixel density of 218 PPI. Compared to 4K UHD, 5K at this size offers 77% more pixels. MSI lists 2,304 Mini LED dimming zones, Quantum Dot technology, 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, and Delta E less than 2.
It is also VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certified, with maximum brightness above 1,400 nits. The company also lists NVIDIA G-SYNC support, 0.5 ms GtG response time, AI Navigator and a button to switch between 5K/180Hz and 2K WQHD/330Hz modes with a single click.
The glossy finish is another important feature, as most Mini LED gaming monitors still use matte panels.
In terms of connectivity, it includes DisplayPort 2.1 with 80Gbps UHBR20 bandwidth, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 98W charging, two USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-B port, and a headphone jack.
