First foldable iPhone may be released in limited quantities

WSome rumors recently began to circulate that Apple could delay the arrival of its first foldable cell phone – currently known as the iPhone Fold. This information cites engineering problems with the production of the smartphone, noting that this model may take a little longer to be launched than the iPhone 18 series models.

However, the Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman Now come to dispute these rumors. Gurman is one of the best-known names when it comes to Apple-related news and claims that the company does not intend to give up on its plan to launch the iPhone Fold in September.

“The company plans to launch the foldable model in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max”says Gurman, based on information released by his sources within the company whose identity was not revealed.

Although Apple wants to maintain plans to launch the iPhone Fold in September, Gurman believes that the number of units available in the first few weeks will be more limited. The reason is actually related to technical challenges inherent to this model, such as with regard to the flexible screen and the materials adopted by Apple for this cell phone.

Despite all this, Gurman states that, although the company is optimistic about its plans, Apple’s calendar is not yet closed.

“The launch is in six months and production has not yet accelerated”writes Gurman. “This means that the calendar is not yet finalized”.

As Gurman highlights, Apple’s September event should serve to reveal only the iPhone Fold and the top of the line iPhone 18 series. As for the standard model of the iPhone 18, it should only arrive at the beginning of 2027.

Rumors indicate that the company should focus on just three models, including the long-awaited iPhone Fold. Leaks show possible designs and reinforce expectations for a presentation in September, with a focus on innovation and changes to the brand’s strategy.
