Shortly after Rainbow Six Siege’s Salt Lake City Major finals, Ubisoft shared several new features that await the game in Season 2 of its Year 11. Scheduled to debut on July 2nd, the update will transform agents, reinforce the focus on 5v5 and bring important changes to the shooter’s competitiveness.

  • The Jegeo Charge – it replaces the Logic Bombs used by the character as malware that can be sent to enemy devices. Those that have been infected explode and deal 40 HP of damage, causing a temporary fire that spreads to opponents.
  • The ability appears with a reduced cooldown but a shorter duration, which makes the timing of its use more important. Whoever has lost their phone will no longer have access to the network, which could be disastrous for the Maestro and Echo, but it will be possible to deactivate the attack faster than before.
  • The character will now use a new weapon, the XK23 rifle – reliable, versatile and built for medium-range combat.

Other changes prepared by Ubisoft

  • Nomad – the detection area will increase from 3 to 3.25 meters
  • Deimos – the time to transform detected enemies into targets has been reduced from 5 to 4 seconds;
  • Solids – SPEC-IO duration, reload time and overclocking improvements increased to 17 seconds (from 15);
  • Zofia – He had 2 armor and 2 speed again, in preparation for a more extensive transformation of the character, who had already had the recoil of his rifle reduced. It will undergo further adjustments mid-season, but Ubisoft is moving forward slowly to listen to community feedback;
  • Mozzie – your pests will cover an area of ​​1.75 meters (previously 1.5 meters);
  • Pulse – the scanning area increased from 9 meters to 10.5 meters.

Weapon adjustments

  • Now Nomad will have access to all AK-74M grips, as well as Deimos, to maintain game consistency and performance;
  • The XK23 Assault Rifle will be available for Dokkaebi, Rauora and Sens starting with the update.

Calypso brings a taste of Rainbow Six: Vegas to Siege

Squad restrictions only activate after this initial step — but they will be less restrictive than in the past.

The update marks the end of MMR (Matchmaking Rating) Hidden. From now on, player ranking will be the primary factor used to find matches. By defeating enemies considered more powerful, a team will gain more advantages — its members lose less if they are defeated.

Ubisoft also explains that Rainbow Six Siege Ranked 3.0 will change the ban system a little. It will always offer three options from the Pro group and two from the Seasonal group, highlighting new scenarios, which will always be available and cannot be banned. With this, more people will have the chance to check out Calypso in its debut.

Rainbow Six Siege will offer rewards in all matches, regardless of whether they result in defeat or victory. The game earns 2 points for success and 1 for failure — and by accumulating 10 of them, a reward can be unlocked.

At the end of the season, additional rewards will be offered depending on the overall ranking obtained. Ubi’s intention is to always reward players’ time and give them reasons to stay engaged. Thus, even frustrating moments will contribute to generating the feeling that we have evolved in the game.

Matchmaking has been adjusted, and now team ranking will be equal to the squad’s weighted average. The developer will try to prioritize the balance of matches, which will take place against teams with rankings of up to 3 different levels — a range that will be reduced to 2 in Diamond and Champion level matches. She recognizes that this can increase waiting time, but believes that the decision will be offset by a less frustrating game.

To top it off, the Rainbow Six Siege Champion ranking was divided into five very competitive levels. For Season 3, Ubisoft promises two-factor authentication, as well as the debut of the Legend Division, which will include those who really have skills considered elite.

Each week, 6 new options will be available (3 attackers and 3 defenders), and Ubisoft will ensure that there will be few repetitions so that the public can really check out the full variety of the game.

Ubisoft also promises the return of several special events, which will bring Masterpiece skins for weapons such as the UMP45 and the T-95 LSW. Furthermore, Fenrir’s purchase price will decrease and there will be the introduction of seasonal camouflage skins, among many other new features.
