THE X, controlled by Elon Musk, is preparing to launch XChat, a new encryption messaging application that is already listed on Apple’s App Store. The launch is expected to take place on April 17th, with a free download.

For now, the application is not yet available on Google’s Play Store, but the Apple store page already reveals some details about the features.

According to the information released, XChat will be compatible with iPhone and iPad and will offer encrypted messages, as well as similar protection for shared files. Among the features, users will be able to edit or delete messages, in addition to having a function that prevents screenshots, the so-called “print screens”.

The proposal is to increase the privacy of conversations, also allowing the sending of messages that are automatically deleted after five minutes, which can be useful for sharing sensitive information.

Another highlight is the possibility of creating groups with up to 481 participants, expanding the use of the application for both personal conversations and larger-scale interactions.

XChat had already been previously mentioned by the company and was promised for June last year, initially as a function integrated into the X platform itself. However, according to the website Engadget, the project evolved into an independent application, with a new architecture developed from scratch.

Rare and extremely energetic signal was captured by radio telescope in South Africa and could help understand how galaxies form, evolve and interact throughout the history of the universe.
