“I think this is the big challenge. We are moving towards this. Our determination is that by the 30th we will sign a major agreement enabling the installation of 65 companies in that hub that was destined for this. It is a process that had been dragging on for some time, but which we removed from the process and began to give priority”, he stated.
The head of Buriti also highlighted that Brasília has favorable conditions to attract investments in the sector. “Here there is a natural vocation for this. It is a city that has sufficient water, energy capacity and the possibility of solar energy as well. So, it is a city that is ready to receive what I say about the added value that technology brings”, he said.
Asked about the impacts of technology on the job market and the performance of civil servants and outsourced workers, Celina stated that the objective is not to replace workers, but to improve the management of the available workforce. “This is done with great caution. You expand what would be a need for hiring. In some areas of our government, you replace it with technology and reallocate that workforce. The government is always holding competitions, always hiring labor, but when you manage to manage this workforce better, you can serve people more quickly”, he explained.
The Chief Executive also highlighted the progress made with the creation of the Digital Governance Secretariat. According to her, the department now allows digitally monitoring government finances, integrating systems and improving the monitoring of public services. “We now monitor all of our government’s finances digitally to know which areas we are investing more in. We are also integrating the health area, which is our biggest challenge today. I use technology in this area too”, he stated.
The governor assessed that technology should complement, not replace, human work. “I think that the discussion about technology and the market will adapt, because man will always have his place, he will never be completely replaced. Technology is a very strategic area so that you can have cost-saving management, delivering more and reducing costs. Today, the main focus is cost reduction and the search for efficiency”, he concluded.
